Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: love these Comment: iron supplements. they dont upset my stomach. early spring i bought the higher dosage the 65mg since i was extremely low on iron i had pneumonia end of January and i just wasnt recovering right and i was quite ill feeling still fatigued had breathing issues upon extertion the stairs at my house would wind me if i had more than one load of groceries and headaches, when i started taking the 65mg and ran out of that Feosal and feeling on the mend all the problems disapeared, finally i decided to bump down the dosage since really 45mg is safe daily once your iron is built back up, i decided to buy some other kind here in town and after a week of stomach misery i realized it was the supplements! so i went back and purchased the Feosal 45 mg through Amazon and am now back to happy state of being. good seller Highly recommend Customer Rating: Summary: Best Iron Supplement I've Found Comment: I found this product to be the best iron supplement by far. I am anemic, and my doctor told me to take large doses of ferrous sulfate (most common supplement) to treat this. Unfortunately, ferrous sulfate caused severe constipation for me. This particular product provides iron in the form of carbonyl iron, the purest source of elemental iron. It has the best absorption of all the iron supplements that I have researched. The only con to using this product is that it can be expensive. There is a patent on this form of supplemental iron, so although I have seen a past Walgreen's store brand of this, it appears they had to stop making their own version. I have found no other brand that markets this particular supplement. Still, I have found that the fact that this supplement is much easier on my system far outweighs the cost. Another point to note is that studies have shown that this form of iron is safer around children. Iron poisoning has been the number one cause of death in children that have ingested toxic substances. The little red pills look like candy to them. The very slow absorption rate of this particular form of iron makes it less likely that an overdose will result in death (but still requires a visit to the ER to pump the stomach). More Reviews
