Summary: Fan quit working after one week
Comment: For the one week it actually worked, it did fine. However, after one week the fan quit working making it totally useless. I returned it and will purchase some other UV-C device but definitely not a Germ Guardian.

Comment: Ive read other reviews on the product such as "falls out of outlet". As a contractor and after using this item myself I'm here to tell you if that's happening you have a worn electrical outlet. Ive been in homes where outlets were so worn a standard cord would barely stay in. The unit is quiet and versatile with the adjustable prongs that allow you to plug it in several positions. You will need to change the UV bulb once a year at about $15.

Summary: Great Choice
Comment: We have two of these small units in our downsized five-room retirement apartment. Our larger bathroom always smells fresh now. (I don't think the ceiling vent is doing its job.) The other unit is in the 10 x11 kitchen. I have noticed that cooking odors are no longer reeking through the apartment and store-bought air fresheners are a thing of the past. I'm a Happy Camper!

Summary: Much louder than I thought
Comment: I bought 2 of these as part of the gold box deals. The description says "whisper quiet" but it sounds like you have a floor fan in the room. We decided to put it in our bedroom, but it was too loud so we put it in the master bath (even then I could hear it). I guess I'm used to the Air-O-Swiss ultrasonic humidifier which made NO NOISE whatsoever, and we also place the humidifier in the master bath which is adjacent to our bedroom. I'm not sure if the bedroom/bathroom smells better or is cleaner, but it was an interesting gadget to try out.
