Editorial Reviews:
Designed by experts in the field of pest-borne diseases, Biter Fighter utilizes scientific and non-toxic chemical engineering to create what may be the world's most effective pest trap. Using multiple attractants, including carbon dioxide, Biter Fighter lures in blood sucking pests and traps them on adhesive strips.

Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent Mosquito Control with no odor or electricity! Comment: The Biter Fighter has opened up a new world to us - our own back yard! We live in a semi-rural area on about an acre. We are surrounded by trees and the mosquitoes were terrible 24 hours a day. Biter Fighter recommends placing one unit per half an acre (I think), so we purchased two units and have placed them on both sides of our yard.
Yes, the chemical attracts all sorts of bugs to the unit - as well as all the mosquitoes! We have not had a problem with any attractive bugs sticking to the adhesive. I have seen a few feathers stuck to it but never a bird.
I personally would gladly give up a few butterflies and dragon flies to be able to spend more time out in my own backyard without being the main course for the mosquitoes. My father has had a mosquito-free yard for a few years now, and we all are very pleased with the Biter Fighter unit.
I did not want to use an electric bug zapper or propane using unit, and I hate putting chemicals on my kids' skin. The Biter Fighter uses a safe, no-odor chemical to attract the bugs to the unit and then the bugs stick to the red sticky parts. And it is REALLY sticky. And it REALLY WORKS. Customer Rating: Summary: Biter Fighter, killer of dragon flies, butterflies, & a few mosquitoes Comment: I bought one of these and had it outside for about 24 hours. It killed as many dragonflies (major predators of mosquitoes)as it did mosquitoes, and also captured (but didn't immediately kill) one beautiful butterfly whose wings became stuck on the adhesive surface. I tried to extricate it, but pieces of the wings remained stuck after it flew away, so I'm guessing that it probably died later.
Enclosed in the box is a warning that:
"on rare occasions birds looking for a free and easy meal have become entangled in the adhesive surfaces on the Biter Fighter. If this is a concern to you, please use the enclosed bird repellent ribbon."
The problem is that the bird repellent ribbon also becomes entangled in the adhesive and serves no useful purpose. The Biter Fighter looks very much like a bird feeder, which, of course, could attract any birds; and the red color could certainly attract hummingbirds. The adhesive is so strong that any bird could stick to the adhesive and die a slow, miserable death.
This product really should be taken off the market!
