Summary: Gotta see it to believe it!
Comment: I love the H3D Tick Twister! It's amazing. No more worrying about leaving the head behind, which could therefor create an infection for your pet (or person). The Tick Twister removes the entire tick, head and body and all!

Summary: Doesn't remove the head!
Comment: I followed the directions on how to remove a tick. Maybe the ticks on my cats are a bit more persistent than the other reviewers. When I went to remove the tick using the tick twister, it busted in the tool. The head remains in the cat, and all I can do is put some hydrogen peroxide on it and hope it comes out on its own.

Go with the tick remover that looks like pliars. I have always been able to get a tick out, head and all. It can get a bit tricky positioning it right, which was why I wanted to try something new, but I'm going to go back to the pliars.

I definitely do not recommend this product.

Summary: A MUST
Comment: Anyone who is ever in the yard or woods need this. It is the easiest way to remove large or small ticks from people or animals. I have several of these. I have two at home, one in the camper and one in the car. A must for people with kids and pets.

Summary: Much easier than trying to pry a tick out with tweezers - good price too! You'll want this come summer
Comment: This little gadget does actually work most of the time. My Vet charges $8 each for this and he can't keep them on the shelves. I can't say that the device is perfect, but it sure beats trying to get those things off any other way. it's far more reliable than any of the tweezer type gadets being promoted as Tick removers.

The tick twister works best when the tick is engorged (and looking like an ugly grey raisin). If the tick is still feeding and not yet fully engorged, it's a little bit harder to get off but not impossible. However, even noting that, most of the time when you find a tick on your dog, it's either not bitten them yet or, sadly, has already had a feast.

The little prong device is good at sliding around the tick so that when you apply pressure, you release the whole tick and don't leave the mouth embedded in your darling doggie's neck or body. It is much better than using tweezers, a match head (heaven forbid!) or rubing alcohol.

I suggest that you keep one of these in your pet First Aid kit and also carry one with you when you go to the Dog park. it might not even be a bad idea to keep one in the car. This is the kind of device you will want to have multiples of. Buy several at once and save on shipping. You may not think you need one now, but Tick season is just around the corner. The first time you use this, you'll see the genius of it.
