Summary: Will Denis Leary ever figure out he can't act...
Comment: Well the title kind of says it all. Dull,ugly,boring men in a dull,ugly boring movie. Also the most unreallistic sexual pairing in the world. Stunningly beautiful Elizabeth Hurley with ugly, skinny, beaked nosed Denis Leary.Steve Buscemi is comical as usual and adds the only bright spot to the film.

Summary: Mr. Hiassen Take Control of Your Movie Scripts!
Comment: It is amazing that the previous reviwers seem not to realise that this movie is about as far from Mr. Hiassen's novel as Pluto is from Earth. Please read the book and skip the movie. The book is an hilarious, hysterical send -up of the bass fishing industry and all the(in the book) eccentric and dangerous people who inhabit it.In the VHS the closest we get to fishing is looking into the water; furthermore, Hiassen can never be faifthfully translated to the screen; there is too much complexity, irony, and subtletyto bring it off.
One reviewer mentioned the screenplayhad recieved n award. Only in Hollywood, as the cliche goes. I wonder what Hiassen thought when he heard that this "screenplay" which is technically a screenplay detached from the book completely, and therefore to be correct should not have used the titleof the book at all.
Two more extremely aggravating points in this movie. The two guys dreaming up a screenplay was funny at first, but it really got tedious after the third vignette.
Mr. North, the sartorially splindid detective makes a good point at the end, a very intriguing point, which I will not divulge, which indicates more than meets the eye in the killing of two creeps, emphasized by worried looks from the young lady.
This was left handging; very unsatisfactory. Perhaps Mr. North could not let a last homage to Law and Order pass without this horrid movie ending.

Summary: Leary is at the top of his game
Comment: Denis Leary(Judgment Night, Final) makes Pluto's character come to life with spazazz. Elizabeth Hurley(Bedazzled2000, The Weight Of Water) is a godess on screen as she does the chiropracter quite well and the little love scenes with her and Leary were nice but I wanted to see more of her. Donald Faison(Tv's Scrubs, Can't Hardly Wait) and that other guy, forgot his name, as they try to figure out the name of their movie and write it at the same time. They are hilarious. "as a cop have you ever seen a guy being penetrated with throwing darts in the eyeball and chin?". Luis Guzman(Punch-Drunk Love, Magnolia), Melonie Diaz, Chris Noth(Tv's Law and Order, Tv's Bad Apple), and Steve Buscemi(Resevoir Dogs, Ghost World) also star. It doesnt balance itself out a bit and some of the scenes are better left out then in but the outcome and the end is great. I also liked the bit on TV when they say the redheaded kid is writing, directing and starring in his own movie

Summary: Great modern day film noir
Comment: great film, like a modern day film noir. Also an extra addad bunus is the gorgeous Melonie Diaz, who prances around in her schoolgirl pleated miniskirt. Great tough guy cop, who also has a romantic side. Great mix of comedy, gore, and art.

Comment: This movie has a fantastic human element to it. I found it to be profound, yet keeping a true since of humor. A must have for DVD collectors looking for some depth and humor to their collection.
