Customer Rating: Summary: A VITAL book for Ophth. Assisting!!!! COA Test studying Comment: An Absolute MUST HAVE to take Cert.Ophth..Assist./COT Test. Do NOT just rely on the JCAHPO Book (it's not even half as thick as one above). I wish I would have ordered it far sooner but didn't find out till about 1 mo before that this book is used for the test also. MUCH MORE In Depth, explanitory and thorough but yet reads easy for good comprehension and retention (as long as you don't cram like I did!!!) The Pharmacology,Glaucoma, and Tonometry sections alone helped me pass. This book covers everything in most any ophth. office tech needs. Also helpful was Ledford's COA Exam Review. I did not find the Fund. of Ophth. Assisting to helpful for the test- much more technical- more appropriate for COT Exam study. GET THIS BOOK -Good LUCK
Customer Rating: Summary: COA for a very busy practice Comment: This book is awesome!!! I can't even begin to describe what an asset this book is in my office!!!! I bought this book to help me study for the COT exam. This book lives at my office. When a potential tech is hired at my office; my supervisor will ask if the new person can take the book home and start studying it. The head tech in our office refers to it each and every day!! It is a great source of information for the beginning tech, the COA and the COT. This book has much more information in it than the COA Study Manuel that is purchased from JACAPO. It is an invaluable tool in our office. I would say that if you want a career as an Ophthalmic Assistant, than you must have this book in your personal library. It is up to date and has current information regarding refractive surgery such as LASIK and CustomVue. You will use this book over and over again. As a study aid for the COT test, this book can't be matched. I would suggest that you also purchase the COT Study Guide if you are thinking about taking the COT exam. These two books go hand in hand and will be a valuable asset for and for the doctor that you work for.
Customer Rating: Summary: The Ophthalmic Assistant Comment: The book is an excellent edition, which I use for school. It has helped a lot in my classes.
Customer Rating: Summary: Couldn't do without it! Comment: I bought this book, actually I purchased the older version and later the new version, to study for my COA. It was more than enough for that!! Later I used it as the foundation for the study for my COT. I am happy to say that I passed that last year also! You simply can't do without this book!!!!
